About Beverly

Ethereal, poetic, and romantic are the hallmarks of artist, Beverly Brown’s, signature visual style.  Working in several mediums – watercolor, digital painting and photography – she creates artful images for the fashion and graphic design industries as well as for interior decor. In a world of visual clutter, Beverly’s luminous, evocative images inspire the viewer to pause, reflect and dream.

Beverly began her career as a fine art and commercial photographer.  After working as a photographer for many years, she wandered into a room of Sargent and Homer watercolors at the Brooklyn Museum and was inspired to take a watercolor class.  She fell instantly in love with watercolor’s luscious imperfection and unpredictability. Most recently, she has embraced digital painting on her iPad, but continues to work with watercolor. Beverly’s exploration of watercolor + digital painting can be seen in her fashion illustration portfolio.

Beverly’s artistic vision has been applied to commercial assignments, including commissions from Random House, Doubleday Publishing, Pantheon Books, Alfred A. Knopf Publishing, and Narada Media. Her images are licensed through Getty Images,  Alamy and through her extensive image archive. Her work has been published widely in editorial and advertising markets throughout the U.S.A., Japan and Europe.  Her photographs are in permanent collection of the New York Public Library’s Department of Prints and Photographs.

In addition to publishing her images commercially, Beverly works with art consultants and designers to create custom prints for interior spaces. Her prints adorn the walls of corporate spaces, law firms, hospitals, department stores and private homes.  Museum quality framed prints can be purchased through her online retail shop, BeverlyBrownPrints.com.
