The New York High Line, an elevated rail line transformed into a public park that winds along the west side of Manhattan is at its most atmospheric in the evening. This magical time of day inspired these two New York High Line night scene paintings.
In the first High Line painting, in watercolor, a couple is walking and talking, illuminated by the lights of the surrounding 21st-century glass towers. The evening softens the harsh edges and the effect is romantic. This New York cityscape painting is for sale in my shop as an archival art print in multiple sizes and framing options on paper, canvas, metal or acrylic.
The next painting, a view across 23rd street looking out from the High Line, captures an older, more nostalgic New York. It’s painted with PanPastel over watercolor in shades of indigo, aquamarine and pale pink. Archival prints of this moody New York night scene painting are for sale in my online shop.
