This time of year the fruits and vegetables at the farmer’s markets are a feast for the eyes, as as well as the palette. Inspired by all this delicious bounty, I made these heirloom tomato sketches the other day, painted very quickly in watercolor.
It’s fig season in my studio! I’ve been having fun sketching these deep purple beauties….and eating them afterwards.
The other day our friends invited us to visit them on Fire Island, a beautiful barrier island off the coast of Long Island, New York. The dreamy sea view from their deck was quite spectacular and I was inspired to take out my Ipad and make this plein air painting.
