About the Artwork
This fanciful vintage glam wall art was sparked by a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit of the fashion collection of Sandy Schreier. Ms. Schreier discovered her passion for fashion at age 2 1/2 while hanging out at Russek’s Department Store in Detroit, where her father ran the fur salon. Here I’ve imagined the mannequins come to life in their Cristobal Balenciaga & Christian Dior haute couture evening gowns from the 1950s. It was painted digitally on my iPad in a loose, fresh watercolor style in black, white and gray with pops of cobalt blue.
This fun vintage glam wall art is available as a custom giclée print in my online shop. Each print is made to order in a choice of sizes and framing options; on fine art paper, gallery-wrapped canvas, metal or acrylic. This vintage glam artwork would be at home in a feminine bedroom, a stylish office, a luxurious bath or any other chic space.
